The Scapular

The Confraternity of the Scapular of St Michael the Archangel

The confraternity consists of people wearing the scapular

The duties of the one receiving the scapular are:

  1. Standing voluntarily under the banner of the glorious Saint Michael the Archangel, by living and zealously fulfilling the obligations arising from the reception of the sacrament of baptism;
  2. Taking active part in the battle of Saint Michael the Archangel, which he carries on with evil spirits and their supporters, by fulfilling the obligations arising from the reception of the sacrament of confirmation;
  3. Eagerly participating in the sacrament of reconciliation and engaging in building up of the Kingdom of God in human souls;
  4. Every day, saying the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel, written by Papa Leone the XIII.

Persons who receive the Scapular participate in the spiritual goods of the Congregations of Saint Michael the Archangel

The Scapular wearer, celebrating the spiritual connection with the Michaelite Congregations, in a special way celebrates festivities and holidays:

  1. Blessed Bronisław Markiewicz (Jan. 30)
  2. Apparition of the Archangel Michael on Mount Gargano (May 8)
  3. Saints Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Rafael (Sep. 29)
  4. Guardian Angels (Oct. 2)

Scapular Book

Everyone accepting the scapular is encouraged to leave an entry in the scapular book.

Where does prayer come from? Whether prayer is expressed in words or gestures, it is the whole man who prays. But in naming the source of prayer, Scripture speaks sometimes of the soul or the spirit, but most often of the heart (more than a thousand times). According to Scripture, it is the heart that prays. If our heart is far from God, the words of prayer are in vain.
